About Me

Jacob H.
Mr. Hartog group up in Madison, Wisconsin, next door to a zoo, an arboretum (a zoo for trees), and a lagoon full of ducks, turtles, and muskrats. He grew up catching lots of bugs, reading way too many science fiction books, programming really really slow computers, and doing lots of other nerdy things. He studied Biology at Swarthmore College (where he once fooled some mockingbirds into attacking a tape recorder), Science Education at Brooklyn College (where he helped discover that crayfish really like bubble wrap), and is now studying Economics and Public Policy at Princeton University. He has taught middle school science at IS 117 in the Bronx and at Tompkins Square Middle School in the East Village, and Biology and AP Environmental Science at Lawrence High School. Mr. Hartog lives in Mercer County with his wife, daughter, and son.
